- : I have the same problem, and my ISP carries over 23000 newsgroups.
-
- : My not-so-perfect solution is to use my shell account access from a terminal
- : program, go into the newsgroup area, and do a search & list newsgroups which
- : look interesting. Then, back in THOR, I use Browse News and enter the names of
- : any that I may want to look at, and add them to the group list there. Since I
- : cannot realistically look at even a small fraction of the groups, this method
- : works OK.
-
- : An import list function might be possible for THOR, because it has good Arexx
- : support.

- That seems odd to me....
- I've only got 4 megs on my a2000, and didnt have a problem loading the
- whole newsgroup list from my provider...
- And, at last count, I had something like 21,000 available....
- You must be cutting it pretty close if a meg makes that much difference...
-
- But, back to the point...
- I THINK mNews saves the subscription and conference lists in files...
- They might be editable...
- Or, you might contact the author of mNews and ask him how HE would go
- about it....
-
- The only problem I've had is in actually getting mNews to read the damned
- posts!
- It ALWAYS locks up when its reading in the postings for a particular group!
- Good luck.
-
- Oh, BTW...an idea just occurred...
- If it turns out that the subscription list is NOT editable, perhaps
- someone could get a subscription list FOR you...
- For instance, have a friend with more memory call and use mNews to get
- the conference list and subscribe for you, then port the lists over to
- your machine...
